Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the PillPal iOS app handles information. PillPal is developed by Boris Mak. On App Store Connect the app may also appear as PillPal:MedTracker (bundle ID com.borismak.PillPal).

1. Summary

PillPal is a personal health tracking tool. All health and medication data you enter is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, sell, or share your sensitive health data with third parties. We do not operate a developer-controlled server that receives this data.

This matches the in-app Terms: “We value your privacy. All your health data is stored locally on your device and your personal iCloud account. We do not collect, sell, or share your sensitive health data with third parties.”

“Your personal iCloud account” refers to backups that follow your iPhone settings (for example iCloud Backup), not a PillPal cloud account. We do not provide a separate PillPal login or cloud dashboard.

2. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the PillPal iOS app and its home-screen widget. It does not apply to Apple, other websites, or services you choose to share exported files with.

3. Information stored on your device

You choose what to enter. Depending on how you use the app, PillPal may store locally:

  • Profile details you provide, such as a display name, age range, and an optional profile photo
  • Medication names, doses, remarks, and reminder times
  • Daily logs (taken or skipped), optional mood, notes, and physical-reaction notes
  • Optional blood pressure and heart rate readings you enter
  • App preferences, such as language and whether reminders are enabled

This information is kept in a local database on your iPhone. If you enable the widget, the same on-device App Group store is used so the widget can show your data. That sharing stays on the device.

4. Information we do not collect

Boris Mak / PillPal does not collect your health or medication records onto a developer server. The app does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting services, or social logins that would send your health data to us.

We do not sell personal data. We do not share sensitive health data with third parties for their marketing or advertising.

5. Backups and iCloud

If iPhone backup is turned on in your settings (iCloud Backup and/or a computer backup), Apple may include PillPal’s local app data in those backups according to your device settings. We do not control Apple’s backup systems. You can manage backups in iOS Settings.

PillPal does not currently use a separate iCloud Drive or CloudKit database that we operate. Data stays in the app’s local store unless your own backup settings copy it.

6. Notifications, photos, and export

  • Reminders. If you enable daily reminders, PillPal schedules local notifications on your device. Notification text may include medication names you entered so the reminder is useful. Notifications are not sent to us.
  • Photos. If you add a profile photo, it is stored locally in the app. We do not upload it.
  • Export. You can export a PDF report and share it through the iOS share sheet. That sharing is initiated by you. Recipients you choose (for example Mail, Files, or another app) then handle the file under their own policies.

7. Third parties

Apple provides the App Store, iOS, notifications, photo picker, and share sheet. Apple’s handling of device data is described in Apple’s privacy information. We do not sell data to data brokers.

If you email us for support, the contents of that email (and the email provider you use) are processed only to respond to your request.

8. Not a medical device

From the in-app Terms: “This app is strictly a personal health tracking tool. It does not provide professional medical diagnoses or advice. Always consult a healthcare professional for medical concerns.” Records you enter are for your own personal reference.

Blood pressure and heart rate labels in the app are general reference categories based on values you type in. They are not a diagnosis and are not a substitute for care from a licensed clinician.

9. Your choices

  • You can edit or delete entries in the app.
  • You can export a copy of your data as a PDF from Profile.
  • You can turn reminders off in Profile / iOS Settings.
  • Uninstalling PillPal removes the app’s local data from that device, except copies that may remain in device backups you already made.

10. Children

PillPal does not require an account and does not collect children’s data to a developer server. The app is a personal tracker. If a child uses the device, a parent or guardian should supervise use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a backend service, because we do not operate one for app content.

11. Data retention and security

Data remains on your device for as long as you keep the app (and any backups you create). We rely on iOS sandboxing and on-device storage. No method of storage is perfectly secure; please use a device passcode and keep iOS updated.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Material updates may also be reflected in the in-app Terms & Conditions. Continued use of the app after an update means you can review the new policy here.

4. 我們不會收集的資訊

Boris Mak／藥伴伴不會把您的健康或藥物紀錄收集到開發者伺服器。本應用程式不含廣告 SDK、分析 SDK、當機回報服務，或會把健康資料傳送給我們的社群登入。

我們不出售個人資料，也不會為行銷或廣告目的，將敏感健康資料分享給第三方。

5. 備份與 iCloud

若您在設定中開啟 iPhone 備份（iCloud 備份及／或電腦備份），Apple 可能依您的裝置設定，將藥伴伴的本機應用程式資料納入備份。我們無法控制 Apple 的備份系統。您可在 iOS 設定中管理備份。

藥伴伴目前未使用由我們營運的獨立 iCloud Drive 或 CloudKit 資料庫。除非您自己的備份設定將資料一併備份，否則資料會留在應用程式本機儲存空間。

6. 通知、照片與匯出

  • 提醒。若您開啟每日提醒，藥伴伴會在裝置上排程本機通知。通知文字可能包含您輸入的藥名，以便提醒有用。通知不會傳送給我們。
  • 照片。若您加入大頭照，照片會儲存在應用程式本機，我們不會上傳。
  • 匯出。您可從個人檔案匯出 PDF 報告，再透過 iOS 分享表傳送。此分享由您主動發起；您選擇的接收方（例如郵件、檔案或其他 App）會依其自身政策處理該檔案。

7. 第三方

Apple 提供 App Store、iOS、通知、照片選擇器與分享表。Apple 如何處理裝置資料，請參閱 Apple 的隱私說明。我們不會把資料賣給資料經紀商。

若您來信尋求支援，該電子郵件內容（以及您使用的郵件服務）僅會用於回覆您的請求。

8. 並非醫療器材

應用程式內條款載明：「本應用程式僅作為個人健康記錄與追蹤工具，不提供任何專業的醫療診斷或建議。若您有任何醫療疑問，請務必諮詢專業醫師。」您輸入的紀錄僅供個人參考。

應用程式中的血壓與心率標示，是依您自行輸入的數值所做的一般參考分類，並非診斷，也不能取代合格醫療專業人員的照護。

9. 您的選擇

  • 您可在應用程式內編輯或刪除紀錄。
  • 您可在「個人檔案」將資料匯出為 PDF。
  • 您可在個人檔案或 iOS 設定中關閉提醒。
  • 解除安裝藥伴伴會移除該裝置上的本機應用程式資料；您先前已建立的裝置備份中，仍可能留有副本。

10. 兒童

藥伴伴不需要帳號，也不會把兒童資料收集到開發者伺服器。本應用程式為個人追蹤工具。若兒童使用裝置，應由家長或監護人監督。我們沒有用於應用程式內容的後端服務，因此不會透過後端明知地收集兒童個人資訊。

11. 資料保存與安全

只要您繼續使用本應用程式（以及您建立的任何備份），資料就會留在您的裝置上。我們仰賴 iOS 沙盒與本機儲存。沒有任何儲存方式能保證絕對安全；請使用裝置密碼並保持 iOS 更新。

12. 政策變更

我們可能更新本隱私權政策。更新時，本頁頂端的生效日期會一併調整。重大更新也可能反映於應用程式內的「條款與細則」。更新後如繼續使用本應用程式，您可在此頁查閱新政策。
